Kaius wrote a 5 yesterday and 9 today

02/06/2007

Kaius ‘draws’ - I say draws because he doesn’t like to color… he wants to use a pen and only wants blank white paper - that he goes through faster than you can imagine.

Yesterday he drew a 5 that looked like an S but called me from the stove to tell me it was a 5.

Today he drew a 9 - which was really a six from the direction he drew it lol - he called me from the computer to see that one. :)

Too cute!

Attitude determines Attitude

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the
clock strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today.
I am important. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going
to have.

Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be
thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.

Today I can feel sad that I don’t have more money or I can be
glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely
and guide me away from waste.

Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am
alive.

Today I can lament over all that my parents didn’t give me when I
was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be
born.

Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that
thorns have roses.

Today I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark
upon a quest to discover new relationships.

Today I can whine because I have to go to work or I can shout for
joy because I have a job to do.

Today I can complain because I have to go to school or eagerly
open my mind and fill it with rich new tidbits of knowledge.

Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or I
can feel honored because the Lord has provided shelter for my
mind, body and soul.

Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am,
the sculptor who gets to do the shaping.

What today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of
day I will have!

Thanks to Yvonne for sharing this with everyone in the prosperity group! :)

According to an old tale I heard once, a Hindu merchant dreamed one
night that he died. To his bewilderment, he found himself standing in
a large room, entirely bare. Puzzled as to where he was, he looked
around and saw a door with a small, neatly printed sign which read
“For the Damned.” Having no other place to go, he opened the door and
entered.

In front of him was an enormous table spread with the rarest
delicacies of food and drink. Seated around the table were a number of
people; each was tied to a chair with his arm fastened behind his
back. To the free hand of each person was fastened a spoon with a
handle too long to be used to get food into his mouth. Although food
fit for gods lay within inches of them, the poor wretches were
obviously suffering from the final stages of starvation.

The Hindu quickly backed out of the room and closed the door. It was
only then he saw another door bearing a sign, “For the Saved”.

He opened the second door and for a moment he thought he had
mistakenly entered the same room. Before him was the table spread with
delicacies. The people seated about it were tied to their chairs with
one hand tied behind their backs; a spoon too long from them to use
was tied to their free hand.

Now just before his dream ended, the Hindu became aware of one great
difference between the people in the two rooms. Instead of starving,
the people in the second room were happy and well fed. Though their
spoons were too long to use to feed themselves, they found they were
not too long to feed their neighbors.
