Thanks to Yvonne for sharing this with everyone in the prosperity group! :)

According to an old tale I heard once, a Hindu merchant dreamed one
night that he died. To his bewilderment, he found himself standing in
a large room, entirely bare. Puzzled as to where he was, he looked
around and saw a door with a small, neatly printed sign which read
“For the Damned.” Having no other place to go, he opened the door and
entered.

In front of him was an enormous table spread with the rarest
delicacies of food and drink. Seated around the table were a number of
people; each was tied to a chair with his arm fastened behind his
back. To the free hand of each person was fastened a spoon with a
handle too long to be used to get food into his mouth. Although food
fit for gods lay within inches of them, the poor wretches were
obviously suffering from the final stages of starvation.

The Hindu quickly backed out of the room and closed the door. It was
only then he saw another door bearing a sign, “For the Saved”.

He opened the second door and for a moment he thought he had
mistakenly entered the same room. Before him was the table spread with
delicacies. The people seated about it were tied to their chairs with
one hand tied behind their backs; a spoon too long from them to use
was tied to their free hand.

Now just before his dream ended, the Hindu became aware of one great
difference between the people in the two rooms. Instead of starving,
the people in the second room were happy and well fed. Though their
spoons were too long to use to feed themselves, they found they were
not too long to feed their neighbors.

Random and Recent Kaius Pictures

01/03/2007

Kaius drew a fish (ola)

Kaius calls all fish - ola, because when we were living with our friends Olga and Marland… they had a beta fish called Lola. :)

He drew one on his magnetic board the other day - he told me it was a fish… otherwise, I’m not sure I would have known lol :)

Christmas Pictures

Kaius got spoiled.. but of course… lots of educational and wooden toys.  Some awesome stuff from Discovery Toys

DuSharn got a bunch of clothes, which he returned for DVD’s :)

I got an acoustic guitar, a foot spa and some hoodies!! :)

Pictures for your viewing pleasure…

The tree with everything underneath

Kaius excited for the presents :)

Getting a little bit of help with mommy’s taping job.

I guess he didn’t get what it was… yet.

Wooden puzzles, that he loves to put together.

Daddy happy about his Pocky (candy coated bread sticks - it’s a Japanese thing)

Wooden instruments for Kaius to accompany mom on the guitar.  :)

A wooden tool set - apparently he likes this one. :)

He’s getting the hang of things now.

Daddy with his new backpack (one of the few things he kept).

A puzzle of a town with cars and their respective drivers.

Daddy in his new jacket that mommy wanted but he returned.

We had a great time!  Later that day, DuSharn’s sisters and mom came by.

Gramma (DuSharn’s Mom) and Aunty Latia (DuSharn’s Sister)

LaShya is in the white at the computer, Terrence is in the black shirt and Jordan is in the blue and white… all Kaius’ cousins.

Kaius got clothes and a belt with his name on it from Gramma!

He also got a semi truck to put all his hot wheels cars in - it came with quite a few cars too!

Gall Stones

After a $750 ultrasound and a $900 stay in the ER on new year’s day at 4am which included an EKG (normal), Chest X-ray (normal),  blood tests (normal), urine test (blood in my urine)… 9 hours of pain… a shot of morphine… prescription for T3’s… etc.

Diagnosis… “possible gall stones” and no instruction on what to do next oh! and a visit with the hospital financial department - before the ultrasound.  If I had to get surgery… I would have to give them a deposit before they’d do it… they almost didn’t let me do the ultrasound.  Gotta love  having no insurance coverage… thankfully DuSharn and Kaius are covered.

Have I said that I hate doctors and hospitals?

Anyway I’m looking at natural alternatives of getting rid of them and came across this page - http://www.herbal-treatment.net/herbs_gall_attack.html which has this paragraph in it…

The emotional profile of a patient suffering from gall bladder problems is a person who has too much fatty food, who eats as a response to stress, and who is often resentful or bitter about certain aspects of their life circumstances or the actions of others. These sorts of emotions can overstimulate the liver and result chemical changes in the bile being held in the gall bladder.

Just reading that makes my insides physically react.  I have a lot of work to do.  Between that and the one website I read where some doctor was saying that pretty much everyone he treated with gall stones has cancer or got cancer… I’m freaking out here.

There are a few different versions a remedy you can take that includes eating 4 to 5 apples A DAY for a week.  So I’m definitely going to try that before consulting any doctors or even a naturopath.  I wouldn’t normally trust stuff like that without checking with someone first but… it’s in various places on the internet and it’s not the exact same ‘cure’ every time so… I’ll be going to the store tomorrow to get a wack load of apples and anything else I need that I don’t have at home.

Wish me luck!

My no Coke resolution went into full effect on the 1st due to this fiasco… chocolate too.  I’m completely bummed but will not be ingesting either of these again - no Coke forever and the chocolate thing… might have to be in moderation after I get healthy - the mere thought of no chocolate for the rest of my life makes me wanna cry.  When I do finally eat chocolate again I’m going to stick to fair trade chocolate they have at our natural store.

I miss Vancouver and everyone in Canada… How do you get over being home sick?  Not sure there’s an apple eating cure for that.

If anyone from Vancouver reads this… I need a 2007 calendar and the one I had for 2006 was a Vancouver one… someone please send me one… please?

I’m going to put up my Canadian flag (that I got as a joke when I moved here) right above my desk.
